On the other hand, I have positive proof that I’m really getting smarter as I get older. At some time in college we were given an IQ test and my score was 124 which I was told was pretty good – no genius but better than average. I think it was about twenty years ago I ran across a web site that permits you to test your IQ, With some trepidation, I took the test and scored 131 or 132 – can’t remember exactly which. Wow! Was it possible that I was getting smarter? I’d always been under the impression that IQs didn’t change then I read somewhere they could indeed do so with age. A few days ago I took it again. Now my score was 134 and I’m in Mensa range. If I live into the 90s I’ll be a second Einstein.
But, there’s always someone smarter than you. I asked a feller the other day, “Can you tell the difference between ignorance, apathy and ambivalence?” and he answered, “ I don’t know and I don’t care, one way or the other.”
